Red

Reds and Whites in the Lounge

Just wanted to quickly add this amazing lounge room! It is white with red accents and it is just the kind of thing I really like, in fact very similar to the styling of my own home at the moment. All I need to do is run out and buy myself a brass Moroccan lantern!

Red Patterns on The Walls

Complex and exciting, red patterns and textures take centre stage in the bedroom.

The “pure” red of which certain abstractionists speak does not exist. Any red rooted in blood, glass, wine, hunters’ caps and a thousand other concrete phenomena. Otherwise we would have no feeling toward red and its relations.

A bed canopy sets the scene for restful sleep; choose from crisp stripes, smart tailored linen or romantic sheers. Here, traditional French country style has been created by draping striped ticking from Mulberry Home across two poles hung from ceiling hooks with ribbon. A red floral bedspread from The Blue House adds dramatic contrast, while antique slatted doors on a built-in cupboard and a French-style mirrored dressing table complete the look.

This is indeed an opulent bedroom. The idea of layering curtains, creating fabric wall panels and fitting gold gilt pelmets above the window and bed was inspired by classical Roman decoration. Dunelm Mill fabric has been made into an eye-catching bedspread and cushions, and the luscious red carpet is equally decadent.

Nautical Color Palette

This nautical color palette with it’s vibrant blue, cheerful red and lots of white screams summer!

Look to the water. If you have spectacular ocean views, let the water replace interior blue hues and introduce extra hints of red for contrast.

A lovely porch perfect for seaside living with a white, blue and red color scheme.

Red is an intense and aggressive color, so it works best as an accent.

Reds will dominate and come forward and blues will recede. With a combination of stripes and patterns you can create the perfect lively nautical themed living room that is a pleasure to be in.

Consider using your boldest hue (in this case red) on an accent wall. When you’re working with several shades, the brightest color will showcase the wall with the most interesting features.

Bedrooms with Red Walls

There is no other color like the color red for maximum impact appeal! The color red appears to advance towards you while making all other colors in the room retreat.

Everyone’s idea of red in their minds eye is different as expressed in the following quote:

If one says “Red” – the name of a colour – and there are fifty people listening, it can be expected that there will be fifty reds in their minds. And one can be sure that all these reds will be very different.

By Josef Albers

And now for some red walled bedroom inspiration!

Pull one statement-making color out of a bedspread fabric for the wall color to get an unforgettable look. Here, candy-apple-red walls are bold and in control. For eye-catching artwork, paint empty picture frames white and place them on the wall above the bedframe. The white pops against the red, adding interesting contrast to the walls.

Decor Demon

I just came across this amazing designer Decor Demon. I am in love with the aesthetic produced by Decor Demon, I see lots of modern shapes in shades of white, grays and blacks and then the most violent splashes of bright red. It is just so gorgeous! Modern and contemporary at its best.

This Baroque mirror is just wonderful.
